A feeling of unease, such as worry or fear. – it's an understandable reaction in children to change or a stressful event. For some children, anxiety affects their behaviour and thoughts on a daily basis, interfering with their school, home and social life. Children can be subject to anxiety at a very young age from separation anxiety, starting new schools, nightmares, fears and phobias, and while nurturing them through these development stages helps them and allows them to experiences these feelings and emotions, it's when it affect their every day life then some kind of intervention may be necessary. Anxiety can show itself from attachment issues, low self-esteem and confidence issues to physical signs such as sickness or sick feeling, stomach cramps, migraines, etc and often the child cannot understand or regulate these emotions or their feelings.
